MHS trainer dies in motor vehicle accident

   Middletown High athletic trainer Terri Schall, 36, died Tuesday night after being struck by two cars while attempting to cross Otts Chapel Road in Newark. Schall was walking her dog with two other people when the accident occured at 8:49 p.m.

    According to Delaware State Police, Schall and her dog attempted to cross the road in a westbound direction and were struck by a 1985 Pontiac Parisienne driven by William Partlow, 74, of Newark. She landed in the roadway and then was struck a second time by a 2008 Chrysler Aspen driven by Matthew Reynolds, 17, of Elkton, Md.

    Schall was transported to Christiana Hospital, where she was pronounced dead of massive trauma. The dog also died. Neither driver or the two other pedestrians were injured.

    Neither driver was charged. The crash is still under investigation.
