The YMCA of Delaware, PRO Physical Therapy and AlphaGraphics began a Fight Against Hunger Food Drive Oct. 1 and will continue their efforts through Nov. 30 to benefit local food pantries.
The public is invited to support those in need by donating non-perishable food items at their nearest Delaware YMCA, PRO Physical Therapy or AlphaGraphics location.
Food pantries that will benefit include Calvary Assembly of God in Dover, the Central YMCA Residence for Men Food Pantry, Claymont Community Center and the Food Bank of Delaware.
Items of need include canned fruits and vegetables, tuna, soup, canned meats, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal, pet food, toothpaste, paper towels and toilet paper.
“During the current economic recession, we have witnessed many local families lose their jobs and homes which has created a growing need for food . One local food bank had a sign on their door that they were closed because they had no more food to serve the community”, said Chris Noga, senior vice president of business development, East and Midwest Divisions, for ATI/PRO Physical Therapy. “PRO Physical Therapy is excited to combat this growing issue by joining forces with AlphaGraphics and the YMCA of Delaware with the Fight Against Hunger Food Drive.”
More location information with hours of operation can be found at www.ymcade.org, www.propt.com or www.alphagraphicswilmington.com. Participating sites will be marked with flyers and signage provided by AlphaGraphics Wilmington.
