Why should the residents in the Appoquinimink School District elect you to the Board of Education?
I have been on the board for two years but have attended every board meeting for the last four years. I have attended numerous trainings, events, meetings, conferences, activities that total more than 400 hours of my own time over the past two years. Some examples are advisory boards for state policy initiatives and changes, Governor’s Advisory Council for Exceptional Citizens, state and national education conferences, meetings with department of education, and district events and activities. I am currently the only board member serving with a background in education. I have both classroom and administrative experience and experience with special needs as a parent and an educator. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with the community, the district, and all stakeholders. I am committed to meeting the needs and raising expectations for all children. I have served on the board of education for two years on a partial term and I would like the opportunity to complete the tasks I was elected to do just two short years ago. Thank you for the opportunity to continue our work together as a community for the benefit of all students.

Why should the residents in the Appoquinimink School District elect you to the Board of Education?
As a 10-year educator, I have worked with teachers, parents, students, teachers unions, school board members and every one in between. I am familiar with the operations of school districts from the teachers’ lounge to the board office. I have extensive knowledge of school districts policy and procedures. If elected I will be voice for the people in order to open up communication lines between our school and community.
Focusing on budgeting issues will be a priority, hoping to use my expertise in helping to maximize our tax dollars, and minimizing cuts, while spending smarter. I will bring honesty and integrity to the Appoquinimink School District.
