With snow in the forecast, the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation reminds the public that dunes in the state’s ocean parks are off limits to sledding or snowboarding.

Dunes contain fragile habitat and provide protection for the beaches and the communities that border them, the state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said. Recent storms have already caused some damage this winter.

Except for marked crossings, dunes are closed year-round to pedestrian traffic and activities in Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore state parks.
