Due to the unfortunate passing of Senator Thurman Adams, a special election must be held to fill his now vacant seat.

On Wednesday, July 1, and on Tuesday, July 7, the Sussex County Democratic Committee will hold a town hall meeting to hear from prospective candidates for the Senate seat. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend, and anyone considering a run is invited to give a short presentation and take questions from the audience.

Democratic Committee members will vote on the party’s endorsement on July 7. The meetings will be held at 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of the Greenwood CHEER Center, 41 Schulze Rd., on the northbound side of Route 13, south of Royal Farms.

Senate District 19 includes Georgetown, Milton, South Milford, Ellendale, Bridgeville, Greenwood, and North Seaford.
