Randall Peder Hansen passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009. He was 50.
Mr. Hansen was a unique and dear man.
He was born March 21, 1959, son of Beverly and Randall Hansen. He always considered Delaware to be his true home. He was educated in the Smyrna School District and later at the University of Delaware and Portland State University. He always set high ideals for his work and life.
He met Deb while in college and they were married in 1981.
Mr. Hansen enjoyed his work as a water resources engineer with the Department of Natural Resources and most recently the Delaware Public Service Commission. A
He was an avid runner and enthusiastic football fan, and enjoyed nature, sports of all kinds and reading.
Mr. Hansen was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a colleague, and a friend, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Deb Hansen of Dover; three daughters and a son-in-law, Heather and Daniel of Wilmington, Bethany of Washington, D.C. and Dana of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his devoted parents, Beverly and Randall of Downs Chapel; his best friend and brother, Gregory of Smyrna; two nieces, Kirsten and Katrina; a nephew, Erik; a brother and sister-in-law John and Danette Davies, and their children, Megan and Jake, all of Renton, Wash.; a sister-in-law, DeAnna Poling of Seattle, Wash.; his mother- and father-in-law, Janice and Earl Gross of Hardin, Mont.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10), Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
