    James Irvin “Jimmy” McNatt Sr. of Abbeville, S.C., passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, S.C. He was 69.
    Mr. McNatt was in Middletown, son of the late James Thomas and Elizabeth Pike McNatt.
    He was a United States Army veteran and was stationed in Fort Benning, Ga., and Germany. He also served for a number of years in the National Guard.
    Mr. McNatt was a retired supervisor in the Product and Control Deptartment with Pirelli Cable for more than 32 years.
    He was an avid sports fan and excelled in baseball. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies at the age of 18.
    Mr. McNatt served as a volunteer driver with the Greenwood Rehabilitation Center. He was a member and deacon at Church of God Union Assembly Holiness Church.
    He was preceded in death by two daughters, Deanna Rena McNatt and Karen Leigh McNatt.
    He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years and three months, Lue Virginia Prater McNatt of Abbeville; a son and a daughter-in-law, James Irvin “Jim” Jr. and Janet McNatt of Greenwood; a daughter, Wanda Lisa Christopher of Abbeville; a sister, Betty Darla Powell of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where friends may call at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Herbie Butler will officiate.
    Burial will be 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, in West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Ga.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys Home of the South, Highway 34, Newberry, SC 29108; or to the Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Dr., Kittrell Center, Suite 312, Columbia, SC 29204.
