Howard John Cox Jr. of Earleville, Md., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at his home. He was 59.
Mr. Cox was born Feb. 5, 1950, in Woodbury, N.J., son of Anna M. (DeLiberis) Cox and the late Howard John Cox Sr.
He retired from the Delaware City Refinery in 2004, after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
Upon his retirement, he was able to enjoy spending a lot of time with his family, whom he dearly loved. Some of his favorite activities were woodworking, being on the water, crabbing, boating and swimming in his pool with his grandchildren.
Mr. Cox was a past board member of Family Services Association in Cecil County, Md., where he held a variety of offices during his nearly 20-year commitment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Mitchell) Cox; his mother, Anna M. (DeLiberis) Cox; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Seth and Andréa Cox, and Brad Cox and his companion, Christopher Duffy; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean and Brian Goodman, and Gail and Damion Racine; six grandchildren, Abby, Evan, Ava, Nathan, Ian and Sam; four brothers, Mike, Bobby, Steve and Chris and their families; his mother-in-law, Mary Mitchell; and a many dear friends.

Burial will be private.
