Obituary for Ralph B. Carty Jr.

    Ralph B. Carty Jr. of Middletown passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.
Mr. Carty was born Aug. 4, 1928, son of the late Ralph and Mildred Carty.
    He was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He worked, owned and operated Carty Plumbing for nearly 50 years.
    In addition ot his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Birch and Mary Virginia Voka.
    He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Edna; two sons and two daughters-in-law, William and Sharon, and Michael and Angela; four grandchildren, Jason (Gwen), Jennifer (Domenic) Kelley and Erin; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Richard; and a sister, Marjorie Ciunci.
    Services will be Thursday, June 24, at 12:30 p.m., at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where  friends may call at noon.
    Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
