Obituary for William C. ‘Bill’ Shetzler

    William C. “Bill” “Pop-Pop” Shetzler Jr. of Townsend passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. He was 87.
    Mr. Shetzler was born July 9, 1923, son of the late Anna and William C. Shetzler, Sr.
    He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with the military police in Arlington, Va.
    Mr. Shetzler was a farmer all of his life and devoted his time to farming property located on Noxontown Road for the past 60 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William C. Shetzler III and Kenny Shetzler; and a daughter, Barbara Shetzler.
He is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Janet and Bill Muller; his companion, Beverly Henderson; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy and Melvin Craig, Mary Bowman, Dolores Naylor and Ruth Whitlock; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry and Esther Shetzler, and Francis Shetzler; five grandchildren, Covey Shetzler and his wife, Kim, Chris Shetzler, Barbara Kalb, Bill Muller and his wife, Amy, and Tamara Bosco and her husband, Jeff; and nine great-grandchildren, Amber, Aaron, Britney, Brianna, Erinn, Cade, Delaney, Rhiannon and Holton.
    Services will be Thursday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m., at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, friends may call one hour earlier.
    Burial will be in Old Bohemia Cemetery, Warwick, Md.
