OBITUARY: John W. ‘Jack’ Bingham

    John W. “Jack” Bingham of Townsend passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. He was 72.
    Mr. Bingham was born June 1, 1937, to John K.and Jule Bingham. 
    He graduated from Downingtown High School in 1955 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. 
    After returning home, he served an apprenticeship in Pipefitters’ Local No. 80 and retired from Local No. 74 after 33 years of service. While he worked in construction during the winter months, during the spring and summer months he was an honest and respected Delaware Bay waterman.
    Mr. Bingham was a member of Brandywine Masonic Lodge No. 33 A.F. & A. M. 
    He was preceded in death by his father.
    He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his mother, Jule; a daughter and a son-in-law, Julie and Lee Moran of Smyrna; a son and a daughter-in-law, John and Dianne of Townsend; a sister and a brother-in-law, Carol and Rex Young of Landenberg, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Krysti, John, and Jenny. 
    Services will be noon Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N.    Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Masonic services will be at 11:45 a.m.
    Burial with military honors will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Inc., 5577 South DuPont Parkway, Smyrna, DE 19977.
