     Carole Anne (Calvert) Lee of Smyrna passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, with her family by her side. She was 68.
    Mrs. Lee was born April 30, 1941, in Pawtucket, R.I., daughter of the late Robert and Hazel Calvert.
    She was a graduate of Tolman High School and Katherine Gibbs College.
    Mrs. Lee worked at the Pentagon, The Delaware Development Office, and the DAFB Wing Standardization. She then started her own bridal consultant business, Cal-Art Originals.
    She was an active member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Smyrna, and the Middletown-Odessa Garden Club, where she was a past president. She was awarded life membership in the Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs.
    Mrs. Lee and her husband enjoyed snowbirding in Panama City Beach, Fla. She also enjoyed photography, gardening and painting. Her favorite subjects to paint and photograph were beach scenes and her beloved sunsets. She had a kind heart and a gentle soul. She is loved and will be missed greatly by many.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Calvert; and a grandson, Eli James Chafin.
    She is survived by her husband, James A. Lee; a son and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Susan Lee; a daughter and a son-in-law, Suzanne and Tom Chafin; a brother, Robert Calvert; a sister-in-law, Nancy Whitlock; a sister of the heart, Ruth O’Laney; two granddogs, Cassidy and Maddison; a granddaughter on the way; and several nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna.
    Services will be Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the church.
    Burial will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Middletown.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE 19977; or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot’s Way, Milford, DE 19963.
