The DIAA released the 2017 Girls Lacrosse State Tournament brackets Monday evening, with Archmere Academy (14-1) earning the No. 1 overall seed and one of six first round byes.
Along with the Lady Auks, No. 2 Ursuline Academy (12-2), No. 3 Cape Henlopen (13-2), No. 4 St. Mark’s (13-2), No. 5 Polytech (10-4) and No. 6 Caravel Academy all earned byes in the opening round.
No. 7 Charter School of Wilmington (13-2) will take on No. 10 Tower Hill (8-6) and No. 8 Padua Academy (10-5) will face No. 9 Appoquinimink (10-5) in the first round Thursday.
The quarterfinals will be held Saturday, with two matchups already set; St. Mark’s/Polytech (@ St. Mark’s 11 a.m.) and Cape/Caravel (@ Cape 6 p.m.).
Archmere will host the winner of Padua/Appo at 11 a.m., while Ursuline will welcome the winner of Charter/Tower Hill at 3 p.m.
The semifinal round will be held Tuesday, May 23 at sites to be determined before the championship Thursday, May 25 at DE Sports Turf.
