While it's too late to register to participate in the Mud Run Sunday, Sept. 17 at Frightland near St. Georges, spectators are welcome to watch the sloppy fundraiser, with a $10 parking fee benefiting the cause, the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware.
The Delaware Mud Run, which benefits the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Frightland off of northbound U.S. Route 13, north of Middletown and Odessa.
The registration deadline for participants was Sept. 8, but spectators are welcome to watch the sloppy fundraiser, with parking at $10 per car to help the Leukemia Research Foundation.
Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. The first wave of runners is scheduled to start at 10:20 a.m., and the last wave will start at about 1 p.m. Gates close at 5 p.m.
The Mud Run is a “mudder-style” 5K race that goes beyond running approximately 3.1 miles. There will be boot-camp style obstacles surrounded by or consisting of mud and water.
Participation involves teams of four in either the men's, women's, or co-ed categories. There will be prizes for the fastest teams, the team with the most creativity, and teams that raise the most donations.
All the proceeds from the event benefit Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware that enables researchers to make crucial discoveries that will help the medical world develop a better understanding of blood cancers.
