The St. Georges Tech softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to overtake Appoquinimink 7-6 Tuesday, ending Appo's 14-game winning streak.
Rebecca Sterling drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh with a double as St. Georges Tech improved to 8-6 this season.
Appo hadn't lost all year and now stands at 14-1.
The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Jags scored a run in the top of the third, but the Hawks responded with a run in the fourth for a 4-1 advantage.
Appo tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth and surged into the lead, 6-4, with two runs in the top of the sixth.
Then St. Georges Tech rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
For the Hawks, Samantha Carbonara hit a home run as part of a 2-for-4 day with three RBI. Sheridan Long had a double in addition to Sterling's game-winning double.
For the Jags, Brooke Miller and Madeline Olivas hit doubles, while Mallory Weir went 3-for-4.
