No. 7 Newark Charter advanced to the DIAA Girls Lacrosse State Quarterfinals, defeating No. 10 Appoquinimink 15-8 in the opening round today, May 17.
Samantha Karr and Victoria Dunbar led the way for the Partiots, both finishing with four goals apiece.
Seniors Kristin Cunningham and Sydney Laumeister helped keep the Lady Jags in the game; Cunningham finished with a team high three goals and added an assist, while Sydney Laumeister finished with a goal and an assist.
Alyson Laumeister, Logan Tiederman, Shelby Graser and Brooke Lawrence also scored for Appo in the playoff loss.
The loss ends the Lady Jags’ season after an 11-4 mark during the regular season while clinching their second consecutive playoff berth.
