St. Georges Tech battled hard through three sets, but weren’t able to top No. 8 Conrad in the second round of the DIAA Volleyball State Tournament Saturday night at Salesianum High School.

After dropping the first set 25-18, the Lady Hawks made Conrad work for the final two sets, which were won 25-22 and 25-21.

St. Georges Tech has a successful season to look back upon, despite the second round playoff exit.

The Lady Hawks bounced back from a 1-5 start to finish the season 10-5, winning the Blue Hen Flight A Division before topping Mt. Pleasant for the Blue Hen Conference title.

As the No. 24 seed in the state tournament, St. Georges Tech shocked No. 9 Caesar Rodney in the opening round, 3-1, to advance.
