A cold shooting night doomed Appoquinimink in a 46-38 loss to host St. Elizabeth in the Delaware High School Girls Basketball Tournament Thursday night. The Jaguars connected on 8 of 52 shots from two-point range, and went 4 of 9 on 3-pointers.

Appo (12-10) trailed 14-12 at halftime, but quickly tied it on a Tierra Scott basket to start the third quarter. The Jaguars were then outscored 14-3 over the next seven minutes and never fully recovered. The St. Elizabeth (13-8) lead grew to 15 points midway through the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Amani Clark led the Jaguars with 10 points, followed by Ashley Smith (nine), Taylor Bond (six), Toresha Foster (five), Nicole Cwiertniewicz (four), Scott (two) and Taylor Hollins (two). Scott and Foster grabbed nine and six rebounds, respectively.
