St. Georges Tech senior Hunter Bordley, a 145-pound wrestler and four-year starter, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to compete at American International College in Springfield, Mass. next winter. The Middletown resident chose AIC over Anderson University, Spartanburg Methodist College and Marion Military Institute.

Bordley said he "Really liked the college atmosphere, academic and athletic facilities at AIC."

Bordley's high school career accomplishments include being a Bohemia Manor Tournament champion (three times), Howard Tournament champion (twice), PolyTech Tournament finalist (twice), Delaware State Wrestling Championships Qualifier and Academic All-State Wrestler.

During his senior season, St. Georges went 12-2 and won the Blue Hen Conference Flight-B Title. Bordley was unable to wrestle in the 2011 Blue Hen Conference Championships because he was diagnosed with a sinus infection and strep throat. Bordley said he was very disappointed how his high school wrestling career ended but is determined to work even harder this offseason and has set high goals for himself while wrestling in college.
