St. Georges pitcher receives mention

    St. Georges Tech junior pitcher/infielder Kenneth Thomas was selected as a 2010 Louisville Slugger High School Preseason Honorable Mention All-American. Last season on the mound, The 6-foot-1, 170-pound righthander was 6-1 with a 2.75 ERA, striking out 56 in 35.6 innings. St. Georges went 15-5 in its first varsity season. Thomas was also the only sophomore pitcher on the Delaware North Carpenter Cup team.
    The All-American players are chosen from nominations received by their high school coach, and recommendations received from other coaches and scouts. The teams are selected by the staff of Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
    Thomas and teammate Jereme Pengelly, a designated hitter, were included on the statewide players to watch list.
