Mrs. Anna Mae Emerson, 95, of Middletown, DE passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 after a long illness.
She was born on August 23, 1916 to William and Anna Jacobs of Smyrna, DE.
Anna was married to Earl L. Emerson, Sr. on September 20, 1933 and together they were blessed with five children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Earl, Sr.; sister, Emma McClain; daughter, Frances Stapleford; daughter- in- law, Nancy E. Emerson and two grandchildren, Vicki Burris and James Waecker, Jr.
Anna is survived by a son, Earl Emerson Jr.; three daughters, Joan Burris, Phyllis Waecker and Linda Adams and their husbands; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grand-children and many nieces and nephews and their families too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
