Middletown Police arrest Maryland man for cashing stolen checks

A Maryland man was arrested Feb. 15 after he cashed three checks at the Dove Run PNC Bank that police say were stolen from an 87-year-old woman.

Patrick Pileggi, 23, was taken into custody by Middletown Police after they responded to the bank inside of the Giant Supermarket at 200 Dove Run Center in Middletown for a possible identify theft.

Polices said that Pileggi cashed three checks totaling $750 that were stolen from an 87-year-old Galena, Md. woman.

Pileggi was charged with identify theft, theft and forgery and released on a $9,000 unsecured bail.
