    Barbara Ann Regener of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Christiana Hospital. She was 78.

    Mrs. Regener was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on May 18, 1933, daughter of the late Edward Durney and Margaret Holveck Durney.  A talented and resourceful homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved family. 

    As a devout Catholic, Mrs. Regener was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church and was also a member of the Sacred Heart Society.  She greatly enjoyed traveling with her family throughout her life and looked forward to cheering each season for her favorite team, the Phillies.

    She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul A. Regener, Sr.; children, Linda A. McCall of Middletown, Paul A. Regener, Jr. (Jane) of Wilmington, Edward C. Regener of Florida, Michael P. Regener of New Castle, and Lori A. Rollins of Middletown; sisters, Frances Helmandollar (Donald) of Connecticut and Geraldine Schilling (Kenneth) of New Castle; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Durney, Joseph Durney, and Gerald Durney, son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Rollins, and by two great grandchildren.

    Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.  Mass of Christian Burial followed at 12:30 pm.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to March of Dimes, Delaware State Chapter, 236-C N. James Street, Newport, DE 19804.
