Carol B. Reed, of Lewes passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was 70.


    Carol B. Reed, of Lewes passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was 70.

    She was born December 25, 1940 in Middletown, daughter of the late William Arthur and Dorothy Boyer Williams.

    Carol graduated from Middletown High School.  For many years helped to operate the family dairy farm in Chestertown, Md.  She also worked as a nurse's aide and was the Innkeeper at Great Oak Manor, also in the Chestertown area.  When she retired to Lewes, she became a member of the Beebe Auxiliary and worked devotedly at the Beebe Thrift Store.  Carol was an avid member of the Plantations Homeowners Associationwhere she served as President up until her recent passing. Her hobbies included traveling, tennis and gardening .Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

    Carol is survived by a brother Reese Williams & wife Carole of Merida, Mexico; three children: Jerry Reed & wife Ruth of San Antonio, TX, Jonathan Reed & wife Jane of Chestertown, Md., and Robin May of Millsboro; six grandchildren: Megan, Catherine, Sarah, Zachary, Jordan and Julia. A special thank you to her friends who were affectionately referred to as "Hell's Angels.”

    Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Carol's Life on Thursday, July 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Sussex East Manor House, 30779 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. 

    Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
