The three Middletown town council members whose seats are up for election this year have already filed to run again, town spokeswoman Kristen Krenzer said.

Three incumbents, Jimmy Reynolds, Robin Burgess and Robert McGhee will be running for reelection in March but not one else has filed to run against them yet.

In 2010, all three incumbents were reappointed to their positions without election after no one filed to run against them before the Feb. 10 deadline.

Deadline for prospects to file their paperwork to run this year is Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Candidates must file with the Town Clerk written notice of their intent to run 20 days before the election and must be a resident in the incorporated limits of the town of Middletown for at lest one year.

Hopefuls must be at least 18 years old and have no prior record of committing a felony.

Applications can be picked up at Town Hall between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or can be found online at www.middletowde.org, under “Election Information.”

The 2012 Town of Middletown Town Council Election will be March 5 from noon to 8 p.m. in the Town Hall Chambers at 19 W. Green St.
