The town of Middletown approved a rezoning Monday night to allow for an indoor sports complex on Middletown-Warwick Road.

The Middletown Sports Complex, complete with an arcade, will occupy most of the Bob Wagner Flooring building at 938 Middletown-Warwick Road.

Three indoor sports fields, which will vary in size, will take up the back 15,000 square-feet of the building. The front half will be divided between the Bob Wagner Flooring Company and the sports complex. Wagner will keep a show room and the sports center will use the other half as a concession and party area.

The Middletown Sports Complex will be able to host a variety of sports for all ages. It will be a year-round facility and is currently slated to have 10 batting cages.

Middletown town council unanimously approved the conditional use permit for the indoor sports center with Mayor Ken Branner calling it a great idea.
