New Castle County has been awarded an additional $1.45 million in federal funds to help neighborhoods affected by housing foreclosures.

The county will use this third round of Neighborhood Stabilization program funding to buy, rehabilitate, and resell up to 10 foreclosed and/or vacant properties in New Castle, Bear, Glasgow and Newark. The money will also provide loans to help buyers of vacant homes in those areas with down payments and settlement costs.

The county has received more than $13 million since 2009 for its Neighborhood Stabilization program and rehabilitated 63 homes. For more information call (302) 395-5660 or visit www.nccde.org/housing.
