Open to the public, the event is sponsored by the Middletown Historical Society as a "living history" demonstration in conjunction with the society's "Middletown Goes to War" exhibit.
The Revolution is returning to Middletown!
On Saturday, June 21, the 1st Delaware Regiment, “the Sons of the Blue Hen,” will occupy the front grounds of the Middletown Historical Society Museum, 216 N. Broad St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The public is invited to see what life was like for one of the more famous Continental Army regiments during America’s struggle for freedom from England.
The Regiment will present life in camp and in field with soldiers and civilians, fully-equipped tents, meals, music, and military drills, and – if approved – musket firing demonstrations.
This is the first living history event of Historical Society’s new “Middletown Goes to War” exhibit. For more information, call David Matsen, (302) 378-8265.
