If you were one of the 30,000 ice cream fans who attended the "Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park," you may see yourself on the Food Network's "Eating America" next week.
The Food Network will close out it's first season of "Eating America with Anthony Anderson" with a showcase of the "Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park."
More than 30,000 people attended the June event, which featured the "Best Sundae on Sunday" competition, won by the University of Delaware UDairy Creamery's student "Moo Crew."
Host Anthony Anderson and a Food Network film crew spent Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 recording the event and the influx of ice cream fans who visited the event. The crew also spent Friday, June 27 documenting several of the participating ice cream shops and dairies.
"We were thrilled that the Food Network chose to feature our ice cream festival in the 'Eating America' series and we believe this episode of the show will demonstrate that we truly rank among the top food festivals in the nation," said Wilmington entrepreneur Barry Schlecker, whose company Barry's Events co-sponsored the festival with the New Castle County government.
The episode of the Food Network's "Eating America" featuring the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park" will air at 10:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15. It will be rebroadcast on the Food Network at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 16.
More repeats of the episode can be seen at 11 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19 and 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20.
