Roads could freeze tonight, according to DelDOT.

A winter and hazardous weather advisory is currently in effect for all parts of New Castle County until 10 p.m. this evening.

According to the National Weather Service, up to three inches of snow will fall in northern parts of the county. There will also be periods of a mix of rain, snow, and sleet.

Temperatures will range in the low and mid 30s throughout afternoon and late evening.

The National Weather Service is urging people to check road conditions before they head out. Visibility may also be limited in many areas.

Areas north of Delaware are expected to receive the most snow.

According to DelDOT, there has been no snow accumulation on New Castle County roads because the temperatures have remained above freezing, however as temperatures drop tonight the picture may change.

"All DelDOT crews in New Castle County will remain working today, and possibly overnight, depending on conditions," said DelDOT Community Relations Officer Jim Westhoff.
