A Wilmington man was arrested last week thanks to a witness who identified him to police as the suspect in the burglary of a Middletown barbershop.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 23 at approximately 9:53 p.m.
According to the Middletown Police Department, officers responded to a complaint of a man who had just broken the window out of the Towne Barbershop, located at 15 W. Main St. in Middletown.
Responding officers were told that a witness observed a white male break a window and enter the business. The witness confronted the suspect who fled the scene. The witness was able to provide a physical description of the suspect, police said.
Responding officers matched the description of the suspect, walking in the area of the 200 block of North Broad Street as Jonathan Herron, 36, of the 2900 block of North Van Buren Street in Wilmington.
Herron was identified by the witness as the individual who broke in to the business and was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief under $1,000 and resisting arrest.
He was released after posting $1,000 secured bail.
