Our Daily Bread, the soup kitchen that helps people in need in Middletown, is seeking volunteers and donations for Bob McGhee's fish fry fundraiser during the Peach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 15.

"More volunteers and donations are needed for this event to be a success," said Our Daily Bread President Tim DeSchepper. "If you would like to volunteer or donate an item, please be sure to let us know as soon as possible."

The following items are needed: large cans of Bush’s baked beans, loaves of bread, heavy duty paper plates, cases of soda, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, tartar sauce, take-out boxes, commercially-bought baked goods such as sheet cakes, cupcakes, and brownies. (Due to health regulations, all baked goods must be bought and not made at home.)

If you can donate any of these items, please contact Jan Faust at janfaust@verizon.net or call (302) 584-8703.

Volunteers are needed during a variety of shifts throughout the day, starting at 7 a.m., with set up, followed by preparation at 9 a.m. Servers and helpers are still needed for the one-hour shifts from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m.

If you can volunteer your time, please contact Jan Faust at janfaust@verizon.net or call (302) 584-8703.
