Public comments will be taken at hearings planned in Newark, Camden, and Georgetown.

The Delaware Department of Transportation is holding three public hearings about the state’s six-year Capital Transportation Program (CTP) for 2017-2022. The hearings are in Newark, Camden and Georgetown.

The public hearings will be held in an open house format with a court reporter available to take public comments. People can also submit written comments during the public hearing or send them later.

The first hearing will be on Monday, Aug. 24 from 4  to 7 p.m. at Newark Free Library, 750 Library Ave., in Newark.

The second hearing will be on Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Office, 1783 Friends Way, Camden.

The third hearing will be on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 4  to 7 p.m. at DelDOT’s South District Administration Building, 23697 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown.

The hearings provide an opportunity to review current and suggested transportation projects. The hearings also include capital investments for DART First State public transit and will be used to satisfy the public involvement requirements of Federal Transit Administration Section 5307.

Comments will be received during the public hearing or can be mailed to DelDOT Public Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903.

The locations are accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired is requested to contact DelDOT by phone or mail one week in advance.
