MOT fell to Delmar (Maryland) 15-3 in four-innings, knocking them out of the double-elimination Mid-Atlantic Regional in Bristol, Conn. on Wednesday night.
Tied at 2-2 through two innings, Maryland took control scoring five runs in the third and eight runs in the fourth inning to knock out MOT.
Maryland opened the scoring Wednesday night with a two-run homerun off the bat of Pasta to give Delmar Little League a 2-0 after one half-inning of play.
MOT responded in the bottom half of the first when Brody Sapp smacked a two-run shot of his own to tie things up at 2-2.
After a scoreless second, Maryland began to pull away in the third taking a 7-2 lead after a five-run inning.
Starting pitcher for Maryland, Khalik Beasley helped his own cause with a two-run homerun to start the inning putting Delmar up 4-2 with still no outs in the inning. After a walk and a single Jock Luthy knocked in the third run of the inning on an RBI groundout to give Maryland a 5-2 lead. Next up was Garrett Southern who tripled home another run before scoring himself on a dropped third-strike and Maryland led 7-2.
Beasley put MOT away quietly in the bottom of the third getting his offense back to the plate to do more damage.
Maryland brought 14 players to the plate scoring eight runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 15-2 lead over MOT.
With the 10-run rule in play, MOT entered the bottom of the fourth inning down to their final three outs.
Despite being down double-digits, MOT did not go down without a fight. Nick Pompeo led off the inning with a double later scoring on a wild-pitch but the Maryland lead was too much for MOT to overcome.
