White Clay Bicycle Club's annual ride The Icicle lived up to its name last year.

Riders braved sideways-blowing, eye-stinging snow that glazed cables and derailleurs and turned bikes into fixed gears (as the teeth on chain rings became coated with ice).

Last year's Icicle Ride had actual icicles!

The 2016 Icicle is in April  and we don't expect any weather as crazy as 2015. Instead, the Icicle will be a  chance for us to stretch our legs on a long ride after the cold winter months.

The ride will start from the Cherry Hill Middle School in Elkton, MD.  We can choose from routes of varying distances between 35 and 100 kilometers (22 to 62 miles) covering moderately hilly terrain in areas west and north of Newark, Delaware.

Brought to you by the mighty White Clay Bicycle Club.

Snacks will be available at the start and the traditional well-stocked indoor food stop will add to the camaraderie of the day.
