Event at the Gilbert W. Perry Jr. Center for the Arts in downtown Middletown will include the art exhibit, live music and performances by students.

MOT Charter students will have an opportunity to showcase their talents in theater and the visual arts in a special art exhibit and opening reception Friday, March 9 from 6-8 p.m., at the Gibby Center, the Gilbert W. Perry Jr. Center for the Arts, 51 W. Main St., Middletown.

The reception will feature performing arts students who have benefited from the instruction of Greta Myers in voice and instrumental music, and Tracy Friswell-Jacobs in theater. For those who have seen these talented students perform in the past there is great anticipation for an evening of fine entertainment.

“It’s so cool that we have this opportunity to show our talent,” said Samantha Lorenzoni.

Paintings, drawings, and sculpture will be displayed in the “MOT Charter School Student Exhibit” through March 24. Regular gallery hours at the Gibby Center are Thursdays and Fridays from 12-5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visual arts instructor Lindsey Mical successfully directed students in multiple disciplines and prepared the exhibit for family, friends, and the community to enjoy.
