Preliminary awards were presented Friday for talent, lifestyle and fitness, and community service. The finals were June 11, at Dover Downs.

Several preliminary winners were announced at the end of the first evening of the Miss Delaware 2016 competition Friday at Dover Downs.

A preliminary Talent Award for $500 was presented to Miss Dover, Mikaila Ryan who showcased her vocal skills with a broadway show tune.

There was a tie for the preliminary Lifestyle & Fitness award. Awards were presented to Miss Christiana Donata Leckie and Miss Wilmington Katelynn Mayers. Each contestant received $500.

The next awards of the evening were for the Debi Wilson Community Service award, in honor of immediate past Executive Director Debi Wilson who passed away in December. Second runner-up and recipient of a $200 award was Miss Sussex County Emalie Lawson. First runner-up and recipient of a $300 award was Miss First State Amanda Debus. The winner of the community service award and recipient of a $500 award was Emily Beale, Miss Diamond State.

The final award of the evening was the fundraising award for the Miss America charity, Children's Miracle Network. The winner was Miss First State Amanda Debus.

The final evening of competition begins tonight, Saturday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Dover Downs. Tickets are on sale through Dover Downs.
