The Delaware State Police is accepting applications until 3 p.m. May 13 for Trooper Youth Week, held from June 27 to July 1.  

The program is facilitated by uniform troopers assigned to the Delaware State Police Training Academy. The live-in academy is for high school students who are interested in a career in law enforcement.

Attendees are required to participate in daily physical training and a variety of classroom instruction, ranging from crime scene and accident investigation. Daily physical training will include about 1.5 miles per day of outdoor running, pushups and situps.

The students are selected from a competitive pool. Seniors, juniors and sophomores may apply. The program is free.
