Police are looking for more possible victims of a home improvement fraud run by a New Castle man after his arrest over the weekend.
According to New Castle County Police, on April 29, a Middletown homeowner filed a home improvement fraud complaint against Mario Mareno, 49, of Tradesmen Services LLC.
The homeowner told police that he signed an agreement in September 2015 with Mareno’s company to complete a deck for his home and provided him with an undisclosed amount of money. The project was expected to take a few weeks, however Mareno never returned after the installation of the concrete footers.
The homeowner told police that he attempted to get the money back from Mareno, but couldn’t and contacted the police to make a report.
Police learned Mareno had multiple warrants for his arrest from Delaware State Police Troops 3 and 9 and with Middletown Police for home improvement fraud.
Mareno was arrested on Friday, May 13 without incident in the Dover area.
He was arraigned and released after posting $4,000 secured bail.
