Construction of the new U.S. 301 toll-highway will force the temporary closure of sections of Bunker Hill Road in June, according to DelDOT.

From June 10 at 8 p.m. to June 13 at 5 a.m., Bunker Hill Road will be closed between Choptank Road and Merrimac Avenue to allow for the construction of the temporary, relocated Bunker Hill Road which is part of the overall highway project.

During this time drivers are advised to follow the posted detours and use alternate routes to travel to and from Bunker Hill Road.

Through traffic along Bunker Hill Road should use the following posted detours:

-Motorists traveling eastbound on Bunker Hill Road should follow Choptank Road to Armstrong Corner Road and turn right, follow Armstrong Corner Road to Summit Bridge Road (U.S. 301) and turn right, follow Summit Bridge Road (U.S. 301) turn right and back to Bunker Hill Road.

-Motorists traveling westbound on Bunker Hill Road should follow Summit Bridge Road (U.S. 301) to Armstrong Corner Road and turn left, follow Armstrong Corner Road to Choptank Road and turn left, follow Choptank Road and turn back onto Bunker Hill Road.
