With the recent news that Delaware Transit Corp. will receive a $2 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration to purchase up to six zero-emission battery-electric buses, Proterra, the electric bus manufacturer, will bring an electric bus to the Delaware.

With the recent news that Delaware Transit Corp. will receive a $2 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration to purchase up to six zero-emission battery-electric buses, Proterra, the electric bus manufacturer, will bring an electric bus to the Delaware.

Officials from DTC and Proterra will offer rides in areas where the new DART buses will initially operate.

The bus will depart at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 from the Delaware Transit Corporation South Office, 900 Public Safety Blvd., Dover; and make stops at the Delaware Economic Development Office, Legislative Hall and the Dover Transit Center at Water and Queen streets. The bus will arrive back at DART at 11 a.m. A second round trip will be offered at 1 p.m.

The bus will depart at 10 a.m. Aug. 12 from the Rehoboth Park & Ride located on Shuttle Road, making multiple trips between park and ride and the Rehoboth Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.
