In 2015, racers and fans at the Dover International Speedway were at the mercy of the elements.
This year is no different.
Scattered rainfall has postponed the “Drive Sober 200" NASCAR XFINITY Series until tomorrow Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. It will air on CNBC.
The Sprint Cup Series will start at 2 p.m.
The postponement follows an entire week of delays and cancellations. Practice sessions for the “Citizen Soldier 400” Sprint Cup Series was delayed and then cancelled.
On Friday the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying for the “Citizen Soldier 400” was canceled.
Attempts to dry the one mile track were in vain. As soon as the checkered flag came down the rain started again.
The decision to hold the race means two races—a doubleheader—takes place at the Dover International Speedway. The last time fans faced a double header was April 25, 2010 at the Talladega Super Speedway.
