DelDOT is advising motorists to drive safely, allow extra time to reach destinations and obey traffic laws to ensure a safe trip.
Planned lane closures on Delaware’s major roadways will be suspended at midnight Nov. 23 and will resume at midnight Nov. 29. Traffic accidents and other unpredictable types of transportation incidents may cause delays or lane closures.
Travelers looking for a break can visit the Interstate 95 Delaware Welcome Center in Newark or the Smyrna Rest Area on U.S. Route 13 or take Exit 119 from state Route 1, north of Smyrna. Motorists with an E-ZPass can expedite their trip by using the E-ZPass speed lanes at Interstate 95 Newark, state Route 1-Biddles Corner and state Route 1-Dover Toll Plazas.
Motorists can make their trips on Interstate 95 and state Route 1 more convenient by maintaining an E-ZPass account. To get an E-ZPass account, visit ezpassde.com. Customers also register for an E-ZPass account in person at any toll plaza customer service center, 24 hours a day or by calling 888-397-2773 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays.
