Autism Delaware recently announced that the statewide Walk for Autism will start at 9 a.m. April 1 at Cape Henlopen State Park, 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, and continue April 8 at Fox Point State Park on Hay Road in Wilmington.
The event will attract 3,000 walkers and aim to raise $250,000 for Autism Delaware’s programs and services. Autism Delaware strives to meet the needs of individuals with autism across the state.
The walk also will feature a fun zone where children can enjoy hands-on crafts, products and services are on display for individuals and families affected by autism, well-maintained picnic areas and food trucks.
Event sponsors include Swift Pools, Hertrich Toyota, Bath Fitter, Freeh Group International Solutions and Sharp Energy. Volunteers, including the Home Depot team and Autism Delaware employees who donate their time to help, ensure that funds meet the necessary needs.
