The Quaker Hill Historic Preservation Foundation and M&T Bank have partnered to hold a free, family friendly, interactive Underground Railroad workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Wilmington Friends Meeting House, 401 N. West St.

Educator Darleen Amobi will teach about the day-to-day life of Harriet Tubman and her freedom seekers. Guests can eat pizza and meet Delawarean Pvt. James H. Elbert as he recounts his service during the Civil War fighting for freedom.

URCD also is planning its 2017 National Underground Railroad Conference, “On the Edge of Freedom: Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad in the Borderlands,” set for May 18-21 in Cambridge, Maryland.
