The Delaware Department of Transportation will be holding a Public Workshop to obtain comments from surrounding residents and the general public for intersection improvements at the Cedar Lane Road and Marl Pit Road intersection. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Alfred G. Waters Middle School, 1235 Cedar Lane Road in Middletown. The public is invited to attend.

The project involves reconstructing the existing four-way stop controlled intersection as a roundabout. Shoulders will be added on the four approaches to the roundabout.

Lighting and drainage improvements at the intersection will be incorporated into the project. These modifications are proposed to address capacity concerns and delays at the existing intersection. Additionally, pedestrian improvements will be made by adding multi-use paths around the roundabout. Multi-use paths will extend southward along Cedar Lane Road to connect the sidewalk at W. Middlepark Drive (Parkside Development entrance) and eastward along Marl Pit Road.

Interested persons are invited to express their views in writing. Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT Community Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903 or sent via email to dotpr@state.de.us.

This location is accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid, such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired, is requested to contact DelDOT by phone or mail one week in advance.
