The 12th annual Democrats vs. Republicans volleyball match, an event to raise awareness and dollars for Easterseals services for people with disabilities will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at William Penn High School, 713 E. Basin Road, New Castle.

The Republicans are up seven to four.

Expected guests include: Sen. Tom Carper, D-Delaware; Gov. John Carney; Democrat Team Captain House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst, D-Delaware; and Republican Team Captains Senate Minority Whip Greg Lavelle, R-Sharpley, and Rep. Michael Ramone, R-Middle Run Valley.

Others expected to participate, as of Feb. 21, with the Democrats include: Sen. Nicole Poore, D-Delaware; Sen. Jack Walsh, D-Delaware; Sen. Bryan Townsend, D-Newark; Rep. Quinn Johnson, D-Middletown; and Director for the Delaware Department of Technology and Information James Collins.

Joining Lavelle and Ramone for the Republicans are: Sen. Anthony DelCollo, D-Marshallton; Rep. Kevin Hensley, R-Odessa-Middletown; Rep. Lyndon Yearick, R-Dover South; and State Treasurer Ken Simpler.
