Delaware State Police are investigating Wednesday's bomb threat at Everett Meredith Middle School in Middletown.
Delaware State Police are investigating a threat that was called in to Everett Meredith Middle School yesterday morning.
The incident occurred around 7:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, when a phone call was received at the main office of Everett Meredith Middle School at 505 S. Broad St.
The caller, a male, stated that there was a bomb in the school and that it would blow if it was not located.
“Unfortunately, the return of sunny skies usually heralds the return of fake bomb threats,” said Lilian Miles, Public Information Officer for Appoquinimink School District.
Students and staff were evacuated from the school to the Cavaliers Stadium Fieldhouse, as troopers and K9 units immediately responded and conducted a search.
Nothing of a suspicious nature was located and students were allowed to return to the school at approximately 9:40 a.m. to resume normal activities.
This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police at this time, police said.
