U.S. Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Vania A. Copeland graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Copeland is the daughter of Nicole T. Roberts, of Wilmington, and Van A. Copeland, of Blackwood, New Jersey; stepdaughter of Johanna C. Simms-Copeland, of Blackwood, New Jersey; sister of Tiffany L. Copeland, of Newark; and niece of Angela A. Copeland, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. She is a 2015 graduate of Appoquinimink High School in Middletown.
