As part of the ongoing U.S. Route 301 Mainline Project, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced that their contractor will be placing concrete girders for the new U.S. Route 301 bridge over state Route 896, Boyds Corner Road.

The nighttime closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 2-4; 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 8-11; and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 15-18.

Northbound traffic will be detoured via U.S. Route 13 south onto Marl Pit Road and north onto U.S. Route 301/state Route 71 and return to state Route 896.

Southbound state Route 896 traffic will be detoured via U.S. Route 301/state Route 71 south onto Marl Pit Road and north on U.S. Route 13 and back to state Route 896.

Local traffic approaching state Route 896 from Ratledge Road, Cedar Lane and Jamison Corner Road will be directed along the same route as above. At all times, local residents will have access to their homes.

Variable message boards are posted notifying motorists of the upcoming road closure.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
